It keeps the esophagus clear of food components.<br \/>Inform the doctor about any allergies or history of allergic reaction<\/p>\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-element elementor-element-cd00222 elementor-widget elementor-widget-text-editor\" data-id=\"cd00222\" data-element_type=\"widget\" data-widget_type=\"text-editor.default\">\n\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-widget-container\">\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<p><strong>POEM Procedure<\/strong><br \/>Placement of an IV into the vein to allow administration of antibiotics, anaesthesia and fluids.<br \/>Monitoring of pressure by an arterial line.<br \/>An endoscope is passed through the mouth that goes into the esophagus. The therapy starts once endoscope reaches the esophagus.<br \/>A clear image is seen at the monitor that provides assessment of GIT<br \/>Internal lining of the esophagus is incised. Once incised, an endoscope enters the esophagus to expose the muscles.<br \/>The inner muscles near the lower esophageal sphincter are sliced.
